For many years Petra Stump and Heinz-Peter Linshalm have been working together as a clarinet duo and established their reputation with ensembles and projects in contemporary music. The Duo Stump-Linshalm strives for enrichment of modern chamber music with a new combination of instruments, sounds and works in close cooperation with composers. Numerous internationally active composers e.g. Pierluigi Billone, Chaya Czernowin, Beat Furrer, Gerald Futscher, Bernhard Gander, Johannes Maria Staud, Jorge Sanchez-Chiong and others have dedicated pieces to the Duo Stump-Linshalm.

Recently the Duo Stump-Linshalm recorded its first CD „born to be off-road“ with compositions of prestigious Austrian composers and received the Pasticcio-prize from the radio station Ö1.

The Duo gives regular lectures and workshops on contemporary playing technics for students, teachers and professionals. Petra Stump and Heinz-Peter Linshalm are the editors of the clarinet school „CLARINET UPDATE – New music for young clarinet players“, which was published in autumn 2005 at the publishing company Doblinger Vienna.

The mediation of classical and contemporary music to children in form of concerts („Zauberflöte“ by Mozart or „Tierkreis“ by Stockhausen) and workshops completes their sphere of action.
